At last week's AGM we were delighted to appoint two new members to the PTA committee.  Tina Gardner was welcomed as our new Chairperson with Jo Riordan assisting her as Vice Chair.  Tina has a son Jack in Year 3.   Nicky Watson was also welcomed as Secretary.  Nicky has three girls at Hayton School, Lauren in Year 4, Jessica in Year 3 and Amelia in Reception. Helen Smalley has kindly offered to continue in her role as Treasurer and we thank her for all her hard work. These new appointments are great news for the school as now more than ever the fund raising that the PTA provides is so important for the school children.

Recent funding the school has received from the PTA:

Numicon - all year groups have been provided with these maths sets to aid their learning and development.  Numicon is a multi sensory approach to teaching maths and it engages children to explore numbers using brightly coloured structures in order to understand and explain mathematical concepts.  It is designed to help the children understand the connections between numbers.  We are getting great feedback from the children and teachers!

The PTA also helped to fund the various gardening projects in school and we were delighted that he school were awarded with a Britain in Bloom award this year - well done to all concerned.

The next big PTA event is of course the Christmas Fair and Santa visit to School on the 8th December.   This year we are delighted to be organising a Grand Christmas Draw with lots of fabulous prizes.  Tickets are £1 each and will be sent home in the next week or so.  Further tickets can be obtained from school.    Sponsorship of the Grand Christmas Draw is available for a donation of £50 and is great opportunity to support the school.  Company logos or names will appear on all drawing tickets and advertising.  If you are, or know of, a business or individual who would like to sponsor the Draw please get in touch with school or email   Also if you have a prize you would like to donate we would be truly grateful.

Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who helps and supports

the PTA by coming along to events and generously buying drawing tickets etc,

Warm Regards, Jo Riordan, Vice-Chair, Hayton PTA
