RotaKids

Our RotaKids

We are Hayton RotaKids — small people making a BIG difference!

RotaKids gives us the chance to work together to help other people, care for our community and make a positive difference in the wider world.

We are part of the wider Rotary family, which means we are connected to people locally and around the world who believe in helping others through service.

At Hayton, that fits perfectly with who we are. We want to grow up to be people who notice when we can help — and then do something about it!

What do we do?

As RotaKids, we:

  •  Come up with ideas for ways we can help other people and make a difference.

  •  Work together to plan projects, events and activities.

  • Support others through fundraising, awareness campaigns and acts of kindness and service.

  • Help our local community and look for ways we can make where we live an even better place.

  • Think globally and learn about the lives of people beyond our own community.

  •  Care for our world by thinking about the environment and how our choices can make a difference.

  •  Inspire others to get involved and show that you are never too young to make a difference.

Why is RotaKids important?

RotaKids helps us understand that being a Global Citizen isn't just about knowing about the world — it's about thinking about our place within it.

We learn to spot things we would like to improve, listen to other people's ideas, plan what we could do and then take action.

Sometimes our projects might make a difference to our school. Sometimes they might help people in our local community. And sometimes we might support people or causes much further away.

However big or small our project is, we know that lots of little actions can create a big change.

RotaKids and our Mighty OAKS

RotaKids is a brilliant way for us to put our Mighty OAKS virtues into action.

We show Optimism by believing that we can make a difference.
We use Adaptability when things don't go to plan and we need to find another way.
We demonstrate Kinship by recognising that we belong to communities locally, nationally and globally.
And, most importantly, we live out Service by using our time, ideas and talents to help others.

Through RotaKids, we also grow in our Hayton values of Love, Joy, Aspiration and Wonder as we learn more about other people, our community and our amazing world.

Small actions. Big difference.

Being a RotaKid teaches us something really important:

You don't have to wait until you're a grown-up to change the world.

We can start right now — with an idea, an act of kindness, a helping hand or a project that brings people together.

From little acorns, great things can grow — and together, we can make a difference!
